Is it permissible to state that I am unemployed and do not engage in any profitable activity, even though I am employed, and is this considered one of the major sins, or lying, or consuming ill-gotten wealth?

If a job is designated for the unemployed, it is not permissible for those already employed to compete for it, because the binding laws of the state, which serve the public interest, must be adhered to, and circumventing them is not permissible. The aforementioned declaration is considered a lie, a forgery, and a major sin, due to its consequence of depriving needy unemployed individuals. Truthfulness leads to righteousness and enters Paradise, while lying leads to wickedness and enters the Hellfire. Lying that results in corruption is considered a major sin. It is advised to leave the job for those who deserve it among the unemployed, for whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
