It is permissible to take medication to induce menstruation under two conditions: that it does not cause harm, and that it is not a ploy to evade an obligation, such as fasting. Therefore, it is not permissible for you to take medication to induce menstruation at the beginning of Ramadan to break your fast for exams or other reasons. Breaking the fast for exams is not permissible; rather, the student must fast. Those responsible for exams should be lenient with students and schedule them outside of Ramadan. A healthy, resident student is required to fast in Ramadan. If the matter becomes difficult for them during the day and they fear harm, they should break their fast with what alleviates the difficulty, then resume abstaining for the rest of the day and make up for it later.
