What is the significance of a single good deed in a Muslim's life, and what motivates scholars to care for it, advocate for it, and spread guidance? Does an abundance of good deeds increase a servant's rank in Paradise and proximity to Allah? Are all scholars of the same rank in Paradise?

The inhabitants of Paradise will vary greatly in their ranks within it, according to their good deeds of faith and righteous actions. The more good deeds a servant has, the higher their rank in Paradise and the closer they will be to Allah. This is indicated by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, the inhabitants of Paradise will see the dwellers of the elevated chambers above them just as you see a brilliant, distant star in the horizon from the East or West, due to the difference in rank between them." And his saying: "Indeed, there are one hundred levels in Paradise which Allah has prepared for those who strive in His cause." This variation is based on deeds, as Allah the Almighty says: "And it will be announced to them, 'This is Paradise, which you have inherited for what you used to do.'" Therefore, a Muslim should not disdain a small amount of good, for they do not know which good deed Allah will show mercy upon them through.
