Is Al-Mujeer (The Protector/Granter of Asylum) one of Allah's Most Beautiful Names, with proof?

The names of Allah are tawqifiyyah (restrictive, revealed), meaning it is impermissible to name Him, glory be to Him, with anything that has not been mentioned in the divine revelation. Therefore, one must adhere to what is stated in the Qur'an and Sunnah regarding them; nothing should be added or subtracted.

The name "Al-Mujeer" is not known to be among the Beautiful Names of Allah, as it has not been counted by reputable scholars. The noble verse: (And He protects, and none can protect against Him) (Al-Mu'minoon/part of verse 88), is an affirmation of Allah's action, not the derivation of a name for Him. It is among the principles of Ahl al-Sunnah that a name is not derived from Allah's actions. Indeed, the category of attributes is broader than that of names, and the category of informing (about Allah) is broader than that of attributes.

Therefore, it is not permissible to name Allah, glorified be He, as "Al-Mujeer."
