Is there a difference in the performance of prayer between men and women, based on the hadith, "And pray as you have seen me pray"?

The correct view is that there is no difference between the prayer of a man and a woman, due to the generality of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "(Pray as you have seen me praying)." This applies unless there is specific textual evidence to differentiate. Thus, a woman is like a man in bowing (ruku'), prostrating (sujud), reciting (qira'ah), and the placement of the hands. However, the adhan (call to prayer) and iqamah (second call to prayer) are specific to men. A woman may recite aloud in the Fajr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers.
