Is the intention sufficient for performing the Sunnah so that Allah may forgive my sins?

Good deeds expiate minor sins, as indicated by verses and hadiths. Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that the punishment for sins is repelled by ten causes, among them: righteous deeds.

Accompanying and caring for one's parents is a great act of devotion and one of the strongest causes for entering Paradise. Honoring parents takes precedence over supererogatory acts if the two conflict.

Whoever intends an act of obedience and resolves firmly upon it, then is prevented by an impediment from performing it, will have the reward of the one who performed it written for them in full. As for one who contemplates an act of obedience but their intention is not firm, they will be rewarded for their contemplation of the good deed, but it will be less than the reward of the one who performed it.
