What is the punishment for excessive false oaths that are not atoned for?

Frequent swearing, backbiting, and gossip are blameworthy characteristics that Allah has forbidden. Frequent swearing indicates a lack of reverence for Allah. Backbiting is forbidden and prevents entry into Paradise. The Prophet, peace be upon him, disliked excessive gossip. Therefore, one should advise a friend who engages in these actions by explaining the prohibition of her deeds and that she must offer expiation for the oaths she has broken.
