The answer

There is no zakat on jewelry intended for adornment according to the majority of scholars, whether it is for a woman or for a man who adorns his women with it, because it is diverted from growth for permissible use.

As for gold intended for saving, zakat is obligatory on it if it reaches the nisab (85 grams) and a full year has passed over it. Its amount is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%).

As a precaution and to avoid disagreement, one can pay zakat on all gold, whether intended for adornment or saving, at a rate of a quarter of a tenth (2.5%).
