Is donating a heart to another person permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram), and does it entail reward or punishment?

It is not permissible for a person to donate their heart to another during their lifetime, as this would lead to their death. As for donating it after death, by way of a bequest, the preponderant opinion is that it is permissible, provided that death is fully confirmed before the heart is taken.
