Is donating blood and body organs permissible or forbidden (halal or haram)?

Donating blood is permissible. As for donating organs during life, it is forbidden if it leads to harm to the donor, or the disruption of a bodily function, or disfigurement. It is permissible if it does not cause harm. However, donating them after death is preponderantly permissible due to the many benefits it entails. It is stipulated that the recipient of the donation must be someone whose blood is inviolable.
