Is reciting the Tashahhud after the two prostrations and before the Taslim in the prostration of forgetfulness (Sujud al-Qabli or al-Ba'di) contrary to the Sunnah, or is this action correct?
Scholars have differed regarding the after the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-sahw). The Hanafis are of the view that it is prescribed, while the Shafi’is are of the view that it is not. Ibn Qudamah said that if the prostration is before the salam, the worshipper performs the salam immediately after the takbir. If it is after the salam, he performs the Tashahhud and then the salam. This is the view of Ibn Mas’ud and a group of scholars. There are other opinions, such as not prescribing the Tashahhud and salam, or performing the salam without the Tashahhud. The Permanent Committee stated that the Tashahhud after the prostration of forgetfulness, if it is before the salam, is not prescribed. However, if it is after the salam, there is a difference of opinion, and the soundest view is that it is not prescribed because there is no evidence to support it in the authentic hadiths. Based on this, there is no harm upon one who performs the Tashahhud after the prostration of forgetfulness.
