Is backbiting and tale-bearing to the manager permissible at work for the sake of preserving the work's interest?

Allah has forbidden backbiting and likened the backbiter to one who eats the flesh of his dead brother. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, once passed by people being tormented because they were eating the flesh of others and slandering their honor. Backbiting is to mention your brother with what he dislikes. If what you say is true about him, then you have backbitten him. But if it is not true, then you have slandered him. Speaking about others and conveying information to a superior without a work-related benefit constitutes backbiting and calumny. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against calumny and stated that the calumniator will not enter Paradise. However, if the speech or conveyance is for the benefit of work, such that failing to report it would lead to work obstruction or injustice, then there is no harm in it.
