What is the ruling on watching TV series, and what is your opinion regarding the excuses given, such as: "I don't find anything to fill my time," or "I am too old to be corrupted or affected by such things," or "We are women and it is not forbidden for us to watch this," or "Music is not unanimously forbidden," or "We are only following the storyline of the series"? How do you advise those who watch them, and what are the limits of one's ability to influence a mother or sister in this regard?

The wise person utilizes their time in a way that draws them closer to their Lord, especially as they age. Allah the Almighty said: "Did We not grant you a life long enough for whoever would be mindful to be mindful therein? And the warner came to you." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah the Almighty has left no excuse for a person whose life He extended until they reached sixty years of age." You do not have disciplinary authority over your mother and sister, but your duty is to advise them. It is permissible to boycott your sister if there is a benefit for her in it, so that she may be deterred.
