Why do children fear the tests of this world, yet not fear the test of the Hereafter, and how can we instill in their hearts the fear of the test of the Hereafter?

A person's fear of not succeeding in exams or other endeavors is a natural fear that is not blameworthy in Islamic law, as happened with the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him).

However, succumbing to this fear and allowing it to become an obsession contradicts the perfection of contentment and submission. Beneficial fear is that which motivates diligence, striving, and taking the necessary means.

Children should be guided to prepare for the greater test of the Hereafter through balanced upbringing and by revering God's sacred laws, commandments, and prohibitions. True preparation for the Hereafter involves fulfilling commands and avoiding prohibitions, and fearing its outcome: (A party in Paradise and a party in the blazing Fire). Therefore, a believer should not fear this world while not fearing his Creator.
