Is it permissible to recite scattered verses from different Surahs when making supplication and seeking forgiveness?

If certain verses from various surahs are singled out to be recited before or during supplication or seeking forgiveness, as a means for acceptance, then this is an unlawful innovation (bid'ah). However, if the intention is to supplicate using Quranic verses that are suitable for the need, such as asking for good or repelling harm, then this is desirable and permissible. This is because it is a supplication made with comprehensive words (jawāmi' al-kalim), and it includes seeking closeness to Allah through His names and attributes, which is one of the noblest etiquettes of supplication.
