What is the meaning of "ولا تبذر تبذيرا" (and do not squander wastefully) towards kin, and what is the right of kin upon a Muslim?

Special kin (relatives from both the father's and mother's sides) are owed rights beyond those of the general Muslim populace, such as financial support, inquiring about their well-being, and not neglecting them in times of need. The general rights of kinship are further emphasized for them. When rights conflict, priority is given to the closest relatives, then the next closest.
