What is the ruling on the game of "dominoes" if it becomes a means of missing congregational prayers, exploiting mosque property without permission, and threatening to abandon the mosque when advised?

The game of dominoes consists of smooth, rectangular tiles, and playing it often relies on luck, similar to dice. The majority of scholars have prohibited playing with dice, and therefore, dominoes are considered forbidden by some scholars because they involve luck like dice. Some scholars have permitted it if it is free from gambling, does not distract from the remembrance of Allah or prayer, and does not consume the player's time. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa prohibiting playing it, even for amusement, because it relies on luck and chance.

Its prohibition becomes stronger if it is associated with transgressions such as wasting the youth's time and the precious hours of the night, neglecting prayers and congregational prayers, using the mosque and endowment funds for purposes other than what they were intended for, and transforming the mosque into a place of amusement and entertainment. Threatening the Imam of the mosque with abandonment if he prevents amusement therein is an act unfitting for a Muslim, and they should accept the advice.
