If you attend a ceremony and find impermissible transgressions that should not be condoned, then there is no blame upon you for requesting transportation and accommodation expenses, as long as your attendance at the ceremony has been established, and your inability to complete it was due to a legitimate excuse. This excuse is more significant than other personal excuses. Incidental unlawful elements do not affect the ruling of the intrinsically permissible original event, as the ceremony was held for a permissible purpose, namely graduation. This distinction between original and incidental unlawful acts is well-established in Islamic jurisprudence. An example of this is renting a house to someone for residence; you are not sinful if the tenant subsequently engages in incidental unlawful acts, unlike renting it for an originally unlawful purpose.
