What is the ruling on one who suffers from obsessive doubts concerning purification, ablution, and prayer, and has discharges that he suspects are impure, and fears that his clothes and surroundings will become contaminated, and has obsessive doubts concerning the opening Takbir?

Your obsessive thoughts have reached a serious level, and they must be repelled. Here are two important rules: Certainty is not dispelled by doubt, and nothing becomes impure by doubt. Discharges—if they are vaginal fluids—are pure, but ablution (wudu') is required after them. If they are constant most of the time, they are considered incontinence (salis). For one who finds it difficult to perform ablution for every prayer, it is permissible to adopt the Maliki school of thought, which states that if an emission is continuous for half or more of the time, ablution is not invalidated by that emission. There is no consideration for urine whose emission is doubtful. Say the takbir (Allahu Akbar) once for the prayer and do not repeat it. We ask Allah to cure you of these obsessive thoughts, and we advise you to adhere to supplication (du'a), distract yourself from these obsessions, and consult a trustworthy psychiatrist.
