Marriage is permissible in Ramadan and at all times, unless a person is in a state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, married and arranged marriages in Ramadan. He married Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, Sawdah, and Umm Salamah. Likewise, Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, married Fatimah in Ramadan. Whoever marries in Ramadan must avoid foreplay during the day for fear of invalidating the fast.
