Does a revocable or an irrevocable divorce occur if a husband divorces his wife with the triple pronouncement (Tâliq, Tâliq, Tâliq) while he is angry, then takes her back, then divorces her with the triple pronouncement (Tâliq, Tâliq, Tâliq) while he is also angry?

If the husband repeats the word of divorce and does not intend to issue more than one pronouncement, then it is a single pronouncement, and he has the right to take back his wife before her waiting period (iddah (definition)) expires. However, if he intended to issue more than one pronouncement, then a major irrevocable divorce (al-baynunah al-kubra) has occurred with three pronouncements, and his wife is not lawful for him unless she marries someone else, and he consummates the marriage with her, then divorces her or dies, and her waiting period expires. This is the view of the majority of scholars. Some scholars, however, hold the view that only a single pronouncement of divorce occurs in this case.
