Is insisting on the marriage contract before the suitor joins the army (for a one-year service) correct or incorrect, in order to avoid any sin that might occur between them, while the family believes it should be postponed?

Initiating the completion of marriage is commendable and desired in Islamic law, for it prevents the limbs from falling into unlawful acts, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty."
