The answer

It is not permissible to pay money in lieu of what is owed by a vow, unless the vow itself was to pay money as an offering to Allah. In that case, it is permissible to pay the money, provided that one did not vow their entire wealth, in which case only one-third is obligatory. Similarly, it is not permissible to pay money for the ' or the marriage feast (). The for the 'aqiqah is to slaughter two sheep for a boy and one sheep for a girl, and the Sunnah for the marriage feast is to provide food, even if it is only one sheep, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to 'Abdur-Rahman ibn 'Awf: "(Hold a feast) even if it is with one sheep." Spending money for these purposes contravenes the Sunnah and was not practiced by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, nor by his Companions.
