The answer

The fundamental principle concerning conditions in a marriage contract is that they are valid and obligatory to fulfill, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The most deserving of conditions to be fulfilled are those by which you make intimate relations lawful." If a woman stipulates to her husband that he should not marry another, this condition is valid. If the husband violates it, the wife has the right to annul the marriage and receive all her rights. The option of annulment is established for her, to be exercised at her discretion.
