What is the ruling on a husband traveling to attend his brother’s wedding, leaving his wife alone, given that her travel is impossible and only his elderly parents are present?

A wife does not have the right to prevent her husband from traveling to attend a marriage contract, as this type of travel is not conditioned upon the wife's permission. A husband has the right to be absent from his wife for six months without her permission, based on the hadith (definition) of Umar ibn al-Khattab with Hafsa. Nevertheless, the husband must provide a safe place for his wife during his absence. As for the husband's request for his wife to stay overnight with his family, the wife is not obligated to obey him in this matter, but it is better for her to do so to avoid discord.
