Is Qada (making up for the missed fast) or Kaffarah (expiation) obligatory for someone who attempted intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan while fasting?

If sexual intercourse occurs or semen is ejaculated during daylight hours in Ramadan (definition), even without intercourse, the fast is invalidated. In the case of intercourse, both making up the fast (qada') and a severe expiation (kaffara mughalladha) are required, along with repentance (tawba). However, if ejaculation occurs without intercourse, only making up the fast and repentance are required. If it was only foreplay without intercourse or ejaculation, then the fast is valid, and no making up is required.
