Which is better in Ramadan: spreading knowledge on WhatsApp to serve Da‘wah, or occupying oneself with reading the Quran?

The virtue of the righteous predecessors in the month of Ramadan (definition) was their preoccupation with the Qur’an and its recitation. Some of them would even leave scholarly and حديث (Hadith (definition)) gatherings for this purpose, emulating the words of Allah Almighty: "The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion." (Al-Baqarah: 185). This virtue of reciting the Qur’an stems from the greatness of its reward, for a good deed is multiplied tenfold, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will have a good deed for it, and a good deed is multiplied tenfold. I do not say that 'Alif, Lam, Mim' is one letter, but rather 'Alif' is a letter, 'Lam' is a letter, and 'Mim' is a letter."

However, preference varies among individuals. For someone who only learns knowledge in Ramadan, or whose knowledge of the rulings of fasting is weak, it is obligatory for him to learn what validates his fast. And for someone whose soul tires from a single act of worship, or who loves to disseminate da'wah messages, it is better for him to vary his acts of worship as long as that is more enduring and more obedient. If all matters are equal, then preoccupation with recitation is better.
