Is a disbeliever, upon converting to Islam during the daytime in Ramadan, obligated to abstain from food and drink for the remainder of that day?

Whoever embraces Islam during the day in Ramadan (definition) must abstain from what breaks the fast for the remainder of their day, because they have become among those obligated [to fast], and they are not required to make up that day. As for those for whom an impediment to fasting has been removed, such as a menstruating woman or a sick person, they are not required to abstain for the rest of the day, because their breaking of the fast was permissible, but they are required to make up the day.
