Is the fast valid when drugs are taken and dawn breaks while their effect is still present in the body?

Drug use is forbidden, and one must repent from it. Its repulsiveness increases during Ramadan (definition). If someone consumes drugs at night and their effect persists until Fajr, their fast is valid as long as they abstain from other things that invalidate the fast, and they are not required to make up for it. Drinking alcohol is a major sin, and it is forbidden in Ramadan and at other times. If someone drinks alcohol at night, their fast is valid if they abstain from things that invalidate the fast. Despite the validity of the fast and the absence of a requirement to make it up, the one who drinks alcohol may be deprived of the reward for their fasting. It is stated in the Hadith (definition) that "whoever drinks alcohol and becomes intoxicated, their prayer will not be accepted for forty mornings." Some scholars have analogized fasting to prayer regarding the non-acceptance of the reward.
