Does kissing a non-mahram woman (a colleague) on the cheek invalidate the fast in Ramadan?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
It is not permissible for a Muslim to shake hands with a non- woman, whether by hand or cheek, nor to touch her body, whether it be in or otherwise. This is based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than to touch a woman who is not permissible for him." And Ramadan is of greater sanctity, and what occurs therein is of more severe sin.
