Is it considered an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq) or is it permissible for children to ask their father to move to another house to protect themselves from coronavirus infection, given his non-compliance with precautionary measures?

The Sharia (definition) established the principle of repelling harm. When an epidemic is present, a Muslim must take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others, especially if the competent authorities have issued warnings. If the father is not convinced of the necessity of preventive measures, one should try to persuade him gently, or through those he trusts. If he remains unconvinced, one must be patient with him and take personal precautions for protection. As for ordering him to leave the house, that is not good manners and is considered an act of disobedience.
