What is the ruling on a Muslim fasting in Scotland, given that Fajr is at 1:30 AM and Maghrib is at 9:30 PM, which makes fasting difficult?

Fasting continues from the break of dawn until sunset in any country where night is distinct from day, as per Allah’s statement: "And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset." There is no difference in this regard between countries or the length of the day. If fasting causes harm to the fasting person, it is permissible for him to break his fast and make up for it later, as per Allah’s statement: "Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity" and "and has not placed upon you in religion any difficulty."
