Is fasting made up for when it is difficult due to the long hours of daylight in Western countries?

A Muslim is not permitted to ask the general public about matters of his religion. If he breaks his fast due to a legitimate Shar'i excuse, there is no blame upon him. However, if he breaks his fast without a recognized excuse, such as being a resident (not traveling), not being ill, and there being no unbearable hardship, then he has sinned and committed a great transgression, and he must repent along with making up the fast. The length of fasting hours in a certain country is not considered a permissible excuse for breaking the fast if the fast is obligatory.
