Is it permissible to change the intention of a sacrifice from an offering (sadaqa) to an 'aqiqa for the mother, while partaking of the meat from the slaughtered animal? And is it permissible to give out the 'aqiqa meat raw?

The 'Aqiqah (definition) is legislated for the father. If the father does not perform the 'Aqiqah for his child until the child reaches adulthood, many scholars are of the opinion that it is no longer obligatory for him. Some scholars believe that it is permissible for a person to perform 'Aqiqah for themselves. If you wish to follow the opinion that permits 'Aqiqah for oneself, you may gift your mother a ram for her to perform 'Aqiqah for herself, or you may slaughter it on her behalf with her permission. It is permissible for you to slaughter a ram as an act of devotion to Allah, or to buy meat and distribute it, or to slaughter the 'Aqiqah for your mother with her permission, or to give charity with money. The best option is that which is most beneficial for the poor. However, if slaughtering the 'Aqiqah for your mother brings her joy, then that is more virtuous as an act of dutifulness to her. If you slaughter a ram as 'Aqiqah for your mother or as an act of devotion to Allah, you and your family may eat from it as long as it is not a vowed offering.
