What is the ruling on someone who intended to perform Tamattu' but then did not find sufficient time to perform 'Umrah, and can he change his intention to Qiran, and is he obligated to drive the sacrificial animal (hady) in this case, and is it permissible for him to intend Qiran without driving the hady if he will pay its price in Mina, and is it permissible for him to intend Qiran with the intention of 'Umrah and then include Hajj with it upon commencing the circumambulation (Tawaf), and is Ifraad better for him than Qiran without driving hady?

The answer

If a pilgrim performing Mutahajj ( followed by Hajj) has limited time and fears missing Hajj, he may enter into the state of for Hajj and combine it with his Umrah, thus becoming a Qarin (performing Hajj). This is permissible even if he has not brought the sacrificial animal (hady) with him. He may also appoint a trustworthy entity in Mecca or Mina to slaughter the hady on his behalf.
