The answer

We advise you to strive against your own self to acquire the trait of forbearance, to resist anger, and not to repay evil with evil. Forbearance is a characteristic that Allah loves. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, there are two qualities in you that Allah loves: forbearance and deliberation." Do not pay attention to being described as weak or incapable, and seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan. It is permissible for you to respond in kind without exceeding, though forbearance and forgiveness are better and of a higher degree.
