The answer

The sum of the characteristics of the pious is to obey Allah's commands and avoid His prohibitions; for the servant to act in obedience to Allah, enlightened by Him, hoping for His reward; and to abandon disobedience, enlightened by Him, fearing His punishment. Allah has described the pious with a set of characteristics, including: faith in Allah, His messengers, and the Last Day; performing prayer, paying , and giving charity; fulfilling covenants; truthfulness and patience; supplication, seeking forgiveness, and repentance; benevolence, suppressing anger, and forgiveness; fearing Allah, performing night prayers, and justice; and venerating the rituals of Allah.
