What is the ruling on a wife who raises her voice at her husband and children, does not respond to his request to lower her voice, rejects his advice, and her husband goes to sleep displeased with her?

A wife raising her voice at her husband and disobeying him in what is good is a mistake and an ignorance stemming from bad manners. A warning has been mentioned for a wife who harms her husband. In the hadith (definition): "No woman harms her husband in this world but his wife from among the Houris (maidens of Paradise) says: 'Do not harm him, may Allah fight you, for he is only a guest with you, and he is about to leave you for us.'" And: "Any woman who dies while her husband is pleased with her will enter Paradise."

The husband, on his part, should employ the means of reform mentioned in the Quran: "And those [wives] from whom you fear defiance, [first] advise them; then if they persist, forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [thereafter], seek no means of [annoyance] against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand." He should also deal with her wisely, taking into account her nature, for in the hadith: "And be good to women, for women were created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is its uppermost part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So, be good to women."

For affection and understanding to exist between spouses, patience is required, as is overlooking mistakes, ignoring missteps, and focusing on the good aspects.
