What is the ruling on a menstruating woman listening to Ruqyah?

It is permissible for a menstruating woman to listen to dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and recite the Quran. This includes listening to ruqya (Islamic exorcism/healing through recitation of Quran). It is authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would recline in the lap of Aisha and recite the Quran while she was menstruating. The permissibility for a menstruating woman to recite the Quran from memory is given preference. This is the madhhab (definition) (school of thought) of Imam Malik and the choice of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, who based his reasoning on the absence of explicit, authentic texts prohibiting it, and that women used to menstruate during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he did not forbid them from reciting the Quran, or from dhikr and du'a (supplication). If recitation is permissible for her, then listening to the Quran and dhikr is even more permissble.
