The question

Does the Prophet’s — may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him — saying apply to me: "If a woman prays her five [daily prayers], fasts her month [Ramadan], guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: Enter Paradise from any of its gates you wish," knowing that I engaged in sexual activity when I was young and do not know if I was mature [of age], and that I am now a repentant single woman, 21 years old? And am I entitled to enter Paradise from any of its gates I wish?

The answer

If you repent of a sin with sincere repentance that fulfills its conditions, then your repentance, by Allah's permission, erases the effect of your sin, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin." This means that the sin is removed from the records of deeds, and it is hoped that you will attain the promised reward and enter Paradise from whichever of its gates you wish.
