When should one stand upon hearing the call to prayer (Iqama), and is there an Iqama for the Sunnah prayers or the supererogatory (Nawafil) prayers?
Scholars have differed on the timing of the worshiper's standing for prayer when the iqama (call to commence prayer) is given, with several opinions: when the muezzin begins the iqama, or when he says "Hayya 'ala al-" (Hasten to prayer), or after he finishes the iqama, or upon hearing "Qad Qamati al-Salah" (The prayer has commenced) if he sees the Imam. The fourth opinion states: there is no specific time for standing.
