Five Daily Prayers
- What is the ruling on intimately supplicating to Allah and complaining to Him during prostration by saying: "O Allah, I am poor, so enrich me; O Lord, I complain to You about such and such; O Lord, my condition is such, and I desire such and such"? And does that invalidate the prayer?
- Is it permissible for a worshiper in the Shafi'i school of thought to recite a supplication other than the one mentioned in the Qunut of Fajr prayer, such as supplicating for the destruction of the enemies of religion or the salvation of the oppressed, or is it obligatory to adhere to the reported supplication, "O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided..."?
- Must I repeat my Maghrib and Isha prayers due to the obligation of sequence, if I decide to repeat the prayer of Asr, which is doubtful, after the Isha prayer? And is my ablution valid with the presence of qashaf on the eye, and what is meant by dead qashaf that does not fall off?
- Was the prayer obligatory before the night of Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj, and did the Prophet (peace be upon him) perform it in its current form and number of rak'ahs, and when was it mandated in the form and times known today?
- Is the validity of the marriage affected by the wife's failure to observe prayer before and after the marriage?
- Is the period between Fajr Prayer and Isha Prayer considered a single day for someone who wants to pray two days' worth of missed prayers in one day, by dividing them among the present prayers?
- What is the ruling on prayers if "التحيات لله" (All Salutations are for Allah) and "النبي" (the Prophet) are recited with a sukoon on the yaa (ي), given that the original vowel for both words is a kasra (ــِـ)?
- I want to know the conditions for my prayer and also my supplication to be accepted.
- Does slight movement invalidate prayer, whether for concentration, an itch, or other reasons? Is intense focus required to avoid any movement in prayer? And what should a worshiper do if the imam is fast and moves before the worshiper has attained calmness in their position?
- Is it permissible to perform only the five prescribed daily prayers without the Sunan and without accompanying one's mother, and is it permissible to refuse to go with one's mother to the market when one is tired?
- Is clarity in articulating letters a prerequisite for the pronouncements of the daily prayers (adhkar al-salat) and the morning and evening remembrances (adhkar al-sabah wal-masa'), and is it necessary to repeat the remembrance if a letter is not pronounced correctly or clearly?
- What is the ruling regarding my prayer and the sin of my sitting on a couch that is likely to have been contaminated with urine, and did my mistaken thought that my purification was excused by incontinence affect the validity of my prayer?
- Are the confirmed Sunnah prayers obligatory for the prescribed prayers (Fajr, Maghrib, and Witr), and is one sinful for abandoning them?
- What is the Sunnah regarding the length of Dhuhr prayer and the rest of the five daily prayers, concerning their duration and the surahs (chapters) to be recited by the imam who leads the people? And does the hadith refer to the imam shortening the last two rak'ahs (units of prayer) in bowing and prostration compared to the first two, or merely to reciting only Al-Fatiha?
- What is the ruling on repeatedly repenting from watching pornographic films and then relapsing, given that the questioner is engaged and hopes for chastity through marriage?
- Is it permissible for someone accustomed to audibly reciting the Basmala in their prayer to recite it silently in the Two Holy Mosques to avoid corruption and to follow what people there do? And is it better to act according to the madhhab of the country one is traveling to, to avoid drawing attention? And is the prohibition of habitually praying in a specific spot in the mosque exclusive to the individual or does it include the group as well? And what is the ruling on prayers performed with wiping over socks after their period of validity has expired due to forgetfulness? And is it permissible to prevent a repentant thief from staying in the mosque after prayer?
- Is the prayer of one who consumes hashish, not at prayer times, valid, given that he maintains the five daily prayers with a present mind? And is the endeavor for purification and prayer or immediate repentance after the sin considered an application of the hadith, "Follow a bad deed with a good deed, it will erase it," or does it fall under the category of hypocrisy?
- Is the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) performed in a two-rak'ah prayer?
- Is the intention for performing a prayer on time and for making up a missed prayer obligatory, and is the prayer invalidated by not distinguishing between the two?
- What is the interpretation of the Hadith: "Five prayers Allah Almighty has enjoined. Whoever performs their ablution well, prays them at their appointed times, and perfectly performs their bowing and submissiveness, will have a covenant with Allah that He will forgive him. And whoever does not do so, will not have a covenant with Allah; if He wills, He may forgive him, and if He wills, He may punish him"? And what is the meaning of the covenant mentioned in it? Does it include the Hadith: "If he stands and prays, praising Allah, extolling Him, and glorifying Him as He deserves, and empties his heart for Allah, he will surely depart from his sin as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him"—from one who committed major sins but did not disbelieve?
- Is it permissible for a traveler to pray Dhuhr and Asr as four rak'ahs when combining them, and what is the time interval between the two prayers when shortening them? Is it permissible for a traveler to pray Dhuhr as four rak'ahs behind a resident imam and then shorten Asr afterwards?
- Is it permissible to pray behind an imam who recites the letter (ظ) instead of (ض) in the word "الضالين" (those who have gone astray)? If it is not permissible, is the prayer behind him valid? Is it obligatory to search for another mosque if the distance is far? And should the prayer be repeated if a person prayed behind an imam who does not recite Al-Fatihah correctly, especially since imams rotate between mosques?
- How are the five daily prayers that were missed to be made up, due to being too lazy to perform ghusl from janabah for a full day?
- Is the prayer of a wife valid if her garment tears from the back during the third rak'ah and she continues her prayer?
