However, if it is prolonged, disagreement arises. The view that Tawaf is valid even without continuity between its circuits is a strong opinion. It is the most correct view according to the Shafi'is, the of the Hanafis, and one narration from Ahmad. If the Tawaf is valid, then nothing is required of him. According to the other view, which necessitates continuity, he owes a blood sacrifice (dam) for having missed the farewell Tawaf.
