Is prayer permissible and is seeking forgiveness acceptable if a person practices masturbation, then performs ghusl, prays, and seeks forgiveness, but repeatedly returns to it?

The prayer is valid if it fulfills its pillars and conditions. It is not affected by falling into sins such as masturbation, which necessitates ghusl (definition) (ritual bath). Strong determination and will, coupled with mindfulness of God's watchful eye and fear of Him, help in abandoning this habit. Marriage is another way for those who are not yet married. Beneficial istighfar (seeking forgiveness) is that which is accompanied by regret for the sin, abandonment of it, and a firm resolve not to return to it. A relapse that was not preceded by a persistent intention accompanying the istighfar does no harm.
