Which is better: Night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl) or memorizing the Qur’an, and should one abandon Night vigil to devote oneself to memorizing the Qur’an, and what are the virtues of memorizing the Qur’an?

A Muslim should balance their good deeds, dedicating a portion of their time to night prayer (Qiyam (definition) al-Layl) and another to memorizing the Quran. Night prayer assists in memorizing and solidifying the Quran, especially if one recites what they have memorized during it. With a little time management, one can combine both and review what has been memorized during Qiyam. Memorizing the Quran holds great honor; its bearer is among the best of people, and it is a cause for praiseworthy envy. It elevates its owner in this world and the Hereafter and intercedes for them on the Day of Judgment.
