The answer

Reading the Quran and listening to it both carry immense reward, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will have a good deed, and a good deed is ten times its like." And as Allah the Almighty says: "And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy." (Quran 7:204). Reading from a physical or a screen, and listening from a live reciter or a device, are equal in reward. An electronic Mushaf that displays verses in written form and makes them audible as recited is considered like reading directly from a physical Mushaf, and listening from it is like listening to a direct recitation.
