What is the way to strengthen the resolve of the repentant and fortify their faith, especially with the weakness of admonition and guidance, and their distance from the company of the righteous?

If a servant finds in his heart a yearning for disobedience, this is evidence of the weakness of his faith, and he must take measures that help increase faith, including: supplicating and imploring Allah to make faith beloved to him, reciting the Quran with contemplation, maintaining prayer in congregation, and dedicating worship purely to Allah, as this is sufficient to ward off evil from him. Ibn al-Qayyim said that the cure for this ailment is knowledge of Tawhid (definition) (Oneness of Allah) and Sunnah (definition), increasing in outward and inward acts of worship, and seeking refuge in Allah Almighty, and nothing is more beneficial than sincerity to Allah. Sincerity comes through beneficial knowledge. It is also recommended to listen to beneficial religious tapes such as the sermon "True Repentance" by Sheikh Saad Al-Buraik, "And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah" by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Shanqiti, and "On the Path" by Sheikh Ali Al-Qarni, and to seek out and associate with people of goodness and righteousness.
