Regarding the Imam who performs five takbirat (glorifications) in the funeral prayer, his action is considered correct by some scholars, while it deviates from the view of the majority. It is prescribed for the congregants to follow him. The majority of scholars, including the imams of the four madhhabs, hold that the takbirat for the funeral prayer are four, based on what has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. However, others are of the opinion that they are five. It has been narrated from Ibn Uthaymeen that the takbirat for the funeral prayer can be four or five, and that it is better for a person to perform four most of the time and five at other times to revive the Sunnah (definition).

As for slaughtering a quarter of a cow as aqiqah (definition) (sacrifice for a newborn) and the remainder as udhiyah (definition) (sacrifice for Eid al-Adha), it is permissible according to the Shafi'i and Hanafi schools. However, it is preferable to offer a separate udhiyah and a separate aqiqah to avoid scholarly differences. It is permissible to distribute the meat of the aqiqah cooked or uncooked.
