Should a murderer fast on Eid al-Adha as part of the obligatory two-month consecutive fasting expiation?

It is forbidden to fast on the day of Eid and the three days of Tashreeq. Breaking the fast on these days does not interrupt the continuity of expiatory fasting, according to the most preponderant scholarly opinions. Scholars have differed regarding the interruption of the continuity of expiatory fasting due to the advent of Ramadan (definition), Eid, and the days of Tashreeq:

Hanafis and Shafi’is: It interrupts the continuity, though Shafi’is made an exception for a captive. Malikis: It interrupts the continuity if done intentionally, but not if done out of ignorance. Hanbalis: It does not interrupt the continuity at all, and this is the most probable opinion.

Everyone agrees on the impermissibility of fasting on Eid days, whether for expiation or otherwise. The disagreement is about whether this interrupts the continuity or not. Those who say it interrupts necessitate starting anew, while those who do not say so permit building upon what has already been fasted.
