What is the authenticity and meaning of this Hadith: "On the authority of Mujahid concerning Allah Almighty's saying: (Allow me and do not tempt me) – he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Go to Tabuk, and you will gain the daughters of Al-Asfar and the women of Rome.' So Al-Jadd said: 'Allow us, and do not tempt us with women'"?

The widely circulated hadith (definition) with the wording: "Conquer, and you will gain the daughters of the Banu al-Asfar" is not authentically established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. It has been narrated through connected and disconnected chains that are very weak. It is contradicted by what is more authentic than it, with the wording: "Are you interested in fighting Banu al-Asfar?" This wording is "Hasan (definition)" (good) from the narration of Jabir ibn Abdullah. The Sharia (definition) has emphasized that the intention of the obligated person in their obedience should be to seek Allah's pleasure and glorify His religion, not to pursue worldly gains.
